Gemini for Home: Smarter Voice Assistant
What It Is
Gemini for Home is a brand-new, more intelligent assistant designed to replace Google Assistant on Nest smart displays and speakers.
Maintains the familiar “Hey Google” wake phrase, but with much smarter interactions
Key Capabilities
Understands complex, natural requests, like “turn off all lights except the bedroom” or “play that song from this year’s summer blockbuster”.
Gemini Live enables smooth back-and-forth conversations without repeating the wake phrase great for storytelling, cooking, brainstorming, or troubleshooting
Price & Availability
Early access begins October 2025, via a free and a paid tier—Google hasn’t revealed pricing yet.
Will roll out gradually, replacing the older assistant on compatible devices.
