Moonvalley Debuts “Ethical” AI Video Tool for Filmmakers

Moonvalley, the AI startup founded by former DeepMind researchers, has officially released its professional-grade video-generation model Marey, built specifically for filmmakers who seek artistic control and legal clarity.

What is Marey?

Marey is designed not as a text-to-video novelty but as a “hybrid filmmaking” tool that closely mirrors existing VFX workflows.

It enables creators to import storyboards or reference footage and then fine-tune camera movement, object motion, character behavior, lighting, and even inpainting on specific elements.

The model supports adjustable camera trajectories such as pan, zoom, or handheld simulations.

It can transfer motion between subjects and manipulate backgrounds.

Key Features

3D-aware controls – Full control over camera trajectories (pan, zoom, handheld, or dolly), object paths, pose and motion transfer, inpainting, and background replacement.

Physics-consistent output – Moves and interactions respect real-world laws, like a Cadillac kicking up grass after a bison’s run

Licensed training data – Built entirely on rights-cleared footage from independent creators and agencies, avoiding copyright risks

Availability & How to Access

Direct subscription on Moonvalley.com – Access Marey immediately via a web portal for credits-based rendering.

Integration via ComfyUI – Creators can plug Marey into existing workflows using ComfyUI nodes and APIs.

Enterprise “Voyager” platform – Designed for studios and brands, currently in limited beta with invite-only and waitlist access, followed by broader availability this summer.

Pricing Plans

Marey uses a credits system—each render costs roughly $1–$2. Monthly subscriptions include:

$14.99 for 100 credits, $34.99 for 250 credits, $149.99 for 1,000 credits.

This allows for generating up to ~5-second, 1080p clips—enough for pre-visualization, VFX testing, or post-shoot tweaks.

What’s Next

Moonvalley plans to roll out more advanced controls (lighting, deeper object trajectory systems, richer character libraries) in upcoming updates.

The enterprise Voyager platform is expected to expand later this summer, aiming to scale Marey for high-end production environments.

News Gist

Moonvalley has publicly launched Marey, an AI video tool for filmmakers offering full creative control, ethical training on licensed content, and affordable pricing.

It supports 3D scene editing, costs $1–$2 per clip, and integrates with tools like ComfyUI.
