Alibaba has previewed its first AI-powered smart glasses, called the Quark AI Glasses, at the World Artificial Intelligence Conference (WAIC) in Shanghai.
These new glasses mark Alibaba’s big entry into the fast-growing smart wearable tech market.
What Can They Do?
The Quark AI Glasses use Alibaba’s powerful Qwen large language model and Quark AI assistant to offer a variety of everyday features:
Live translation of speech and text,Hands-free phone calls,Real-time meeting transcriptions,Music streaming,Navigation via Amap (China’s Google Maps),Smart shopping suggestions on Taobao,Contactless payments through Alipay.
You can talk to the glasses using your voice, and they respond instantly—making them a hands-free assistant you wear.
How They’re Built
These glasses are lightweight and comfortable, designed for long wear. They run on a dual-chip system:
Qualcomm AR1 chip handles AI and connectivity.
A second low-power chip helps extend battery life.
They run on a custom RTOS operating system, built to respond quickly and save power.
Availability & Pricing
Alibaba plans to launch the glasses in China by the end of 2025.
There’s no price or international release date yet.
The company hasn’t confirmed whether these glasses will be sold outside China, but global interest is growing.
