Microsoft Launches Copilot Vision for Windows 10 and 11
On June 12, 2025,Microsoft has officially launched Copilot Vision, a major update to its AI assistant for Windows users.
Unlike earlier versions that only worked in web browsers, this new tool can now analyze any app, file, or window you choose to share—offering real-time guidance and visual assistance right on your desktop.
What is Copilot Vision?
Copilot Vision is a new feature built into the Copilot app for Windows 10 and 11 users in the United States.
It works by letting you share a specific window (such as a document, app, or browser) with Copilot. The AI then “sees” what’s on your screen and provides context-aware help, such as explaining features, highlighting buttons, or guiding you through actions.
Key Features
Works with Any App or Window: Unlike previous versions, Copilot Vision can now assist with any software—not just browsers.
Live Visual Guidance: When users activate the glasses icon in the Copilot app, they can select any window to share. Copilot then analyzes it live, helping users understand and navigate their tasks more efficiently.
Multi-Window Support: It can work across two apps simultaneously, making it easy to manage workflows that span multiple programs.
“Show Me How” Feature: Users can ask Copilot to walk them through a task, and it will visually highlight where to click or what to do next inside the selected app.
Privacy & Safety
Microsoft has emphasized privacy:
Copilot Vision does not monitor users screen at all times—it only analyzes what they intentionally share.
Screen content is processed temporarily and then deleted.
Only AI outputs are stored for safety and improvement purposes.
Users can stop sharing at any time.
Availability
Free to all U.S. users on Windows 10 and 11.
No Copilot Pro subscription is required.
